Launched in 1967, Ralph Lauren started out as a men’s accessories company and was the first fashion company to sell a lifestyle rather than individual clothing items. It now produces everything from men and women’s fashion to home wares, fragrances and beauty lines. Ralph Lauren’s first fragrance was Polo in 1978 and now includes the youthful Ralph range, the best selling Romance and over fifteen other perfumes. ‘I’m interested in longevity, timelessness, style, not fashion,’ he once famously declared, adding that it was his vision not to create fashion, but to create a world of living that transcends trends.
